Flesh Fighting
Battles against the flesh are one of the hardest and fiercest fights one can encounter with. In fact we deal with it everyday.
One instance was during grocery shopping where I was hunting for breakfast items. At the checkout counter, my checkout lady missed out the cornflakes box and I paid for all other items except the cornflakes.
So the cornflakes had a free gift, which was a box of coco pops. I went to the redemption counter to get my coco pops and they asked me what is the free item, i tried to point out “there, the cornflakes”, but they saw nothing and said i got the wrong receipt. I checked again and realised i wasnt charged for the cornflakes! They gave me the coco pops anw, as i showed them the cornflakes box.
Then the battles started:
“wah. can i get free cornflakes? And i got free coco pops to go with it!”
“no! u cant have free cornflakes, you gotta pay for it”
“but its such a hassle to go back there.. shy only.. can just walk away, its so much easier that way.”
“there is no way you are going to walk away with free cornflakes”
sigh.. so the battle ended there and went back to the counter to pay for the cornflakes.
Well you may think..
“how stupid of you Lyd, you could just walk away with the cornflakes, after all the other groceries aint cheap and the supermarket is making tonnes of money form the other groceries you purchased. After all nobody knows and they wont realise it until they do a stock count and realise one box of cornflakes is missing.”
Thats right, nobody knows but you alone. Walking away is fine, after all the supermarket only will lose a couple of bucks in revenue, wont make much of a difference to their books anyway.
But if I walk away, I know I an not standing up to be counted, not making a difference, just adding to the statistics of injustice that is abundant in this world.
As My colleagues says:
“Kau sanggup ke, makan duit haram?”
Micah 6:8 encourages me:
He has showed you, O man, what is good.
And what does the LORD require of you?
To act justly, and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God.

Wee! you did the right thing. =)
It happened to me once. Same battle at MPH. I was charged rm3 something for something that was rm 20 over. XDXD. I went back to pay after the “battle”. XP
Good on you. *pats back*
